Bitchy Blahs

It is starting to become difficult to get out of bed again. It isn't impossible, but it isn't easy. I don't know if this is a short phase, or if I need to reevalute the meds. Dammit.

Thoughts?

I need to do some clothes shopping. I HATE shopping, especially for clothes, but most especially for shoes. I would like a few more slacks and blouses for work, and some shorts. Any tips?

There are exactly TWO clothes stores in town. One is cowboy shit, and the other is cute. Problem is, if you buy something there, 20 other people have the exact same outfit.I also try to only buy stuff on sale. I just hate paying full price. My budget rarely ever allows for such luxuries, anyway.

Again. Advice?

Normally, I would drive either 50 or 70 miles to the nearby towns with some stores. But I don't want to spend that time in the car when I could spend it FINISHING THE GOD DAMNED THESIS.

I would like to learn to sew. I really would.

I think The Thesis may have a helluva lot to do with my current funk. I just want it to be finished. I am making good and steady progress, but fuck, I hate it.

  1. Online shopping? We don't actually have much access to online stores here, but I have bought shoes/boots that way and it turned out well.

  2. Ooh, I second Lori D. That was my immediate thought--online! LL Bean! Sierra Trading Post! Other places! Yes, sometimes you get stuff and it's weird, the fabric is too stuff or it turns out that the size is just wrong--but just as often it works out, and it's a lovely surprise, opening that box and seeing the clothes for the first time.

  3. Online shopping. It's the only reason I'm clothed right now. I despise shopping. And if your mood continues, then maybe look at it, but think about all the stress getting your thesis done has been causing. Don't jump to conclusions on the meds. Just sayin'.

  4. Ditto the suggestions on online shopping. LL Bean and Eddie Bauer are usually reliable sources---what you see is what you get and the quality is good. They both often offer "free shipping" deals if you can be patient.

  5. I wouldn't start with meds necessarily, but having trouble getting out of bed sounds like a big deal to me. Have you talked to your therapist about it? That might be a place to start.

Good luck! Hopefully when The Thesis is finally done, that will help with things too.
