3 Boxes

Folks, I have gone through three boxes of Kleenex in the past five days. That means, I have blown my nose at least 810 times.

However! I don't look like Rudolph! I found a miracle. Eucerin's Aquaphor Healing Ointment. I know it probably is just fancy (expensive) petroleum jelly, but damn, it works. My pores look a poorly thought out polka dot pattern, but whatever. I have not whimpered 810 times.

I am still congested ( after Five! Days!) and have a nasty cough. I am going to guzzle some cough syrup (not enough to really have fun, alas) and try to go to work. I feel up to it, I just hate going to work as a 5'2" petri dish. Hopefully I am not contagious anymore.

Are you bored yet?

++++

While laid up, I finally saw Grey's Anatomy for the first time ever. Yep. I am totally sucked in and have some updating to do to my Netflix queue.

What is in your queue?

  1. Ugh. I'm so sorry you're sick. But at least your nose isn't feeling the effects of all those tissues!

    We don't have a Netflix queue. We never watched the stuff we got so we finally canceled our subscription. It is good for watching TV shows, though.

  2. Uck, I really hope you feel better soon. And I am SO HAPPY that you are one of those rare types that actually STAYS HOME when they are sick. Total pet peeve of mine.

    I have Mad Men in the queue! So pumped.

  3. I got hooked in Grey's during my first maternity leave back in 2006, but I've stopped watching new episodes...

    Currently I'm hooked on Dexter. I finished The Wire not too long ago either and couldn't get enough.

  4. Glad you're feelin better. The Gunk sucks.

    I heart my Netflix Queue, even though we draw from it so rarely that it's really more of an abstract wish list right now. We have the lowest-priced option and we're STILL overpaying (two movies a month! Impossible to make that much time!) Right now we have Michael Clayton sitting on our DVD player. We might get lucky and watch it some time in October. Next up: something by Miyazaki (who did Spirited Away: these are movies EVERYONE in the house can watch, so we don't have to wait until 9:30 p.m. to fire up the movie.)

  5. I've had a minor cold for over a week now and am glad it's not as bad as yours. I was SO sick last winter and when this hit me, I just wanted to cry. I can't take another winter like that. I just can't.

    In other news. I hate Grey's Anatomy. What with the dead guy and all that. It's too hard.

  6. if i use those fancy schmancy lotion-tissues, i can usually avoid severe rudolph syndrome. however, i believe i have a trial size doohicky of that aquaphor from blogher, so i will be holding on to that with my LIFE :-)
